Meet Mary
Christian Health and Wellness Coach
Wellness, what exactly is that? What does it look like? Is feeling a certain way all there is to health? Over two decades ago I began to wonder about what wellness really entailed. I thought about the adults in my life when I was a child, especially the aged ones. I didn't remember them living medicated lives en masse. The occasional aspirin for a headache, the once a day heart pill for those over 90. But no shelves of pill bottles or "regular" visits to their doctors. Yet here I was in a world where it seemed being ill, taking medications, even long term, in an endless cycle, had become the "norm". However, I became less and less convinced that this was "normal".
To make a long story short, when a friend informed me that their medications cost $500 a month, every month; and when that friend asked me where I purchased my medications because perhaps that pharmacy had better prices, I was met with an incredulous look when my reply was that I don't take any medications. Then I knew that something was wrong, very wrong, with our view of health and well-
ness. I subsequently came across an article by George Grant in his newsletter, Ex Nihilo, where he wrote about God's plan for the well-
ness of human beings and how we had lost that vision. It wasn't just me...others were seeing it as well.
I was off to the races! I prayed and asked God to show me His plan for wellness, and I promised that if He would, that I would do my best to learn and to follow. It wasn't very long at all that the Lord began to answer that prayer in clear, undeniable ways. I worked diligently to uphold my end.
I have a passion to see women in the Body of Christ well. It breaks my heart to hear over and over how poor health is keeping Believers from being able to do what they feel led to do in their service to the Lord. Not everyone's path to wellness is the same nor will one person's best be the same as another. We all have different challenges, different starting points, and different goals. However, it is my desire to help you find your way to your personal best where wellness is concerned. Whether you want to learn more about making nutritious choices in meal planning or the value of good oral hygiene in heart health, it's attainable. Maybe you want to make 1 healthy lifestyle change. It's one step at a time.
